Kotaro was born from Minami family. But, since his parents died when he was 3, he's been raised by the parents' friend, Dr. Akizuki.
The scientist holds dangerous experiment involving his two sons, Nobuhiko and Kotaro. They're transformed into super human by the help of 3 monsters named themselves Golgom. These monsters require Kotaro and Nobuhiko to be their soldiers. Lucky, Kotaro managed to escape. He barely know what's happen until those Golgoms smash him into electric pole. Not only they show Kotaro how powerful he is, they also pull out Kotaro's hidden power so he can transform into Kamen Rider Black.
As Dr. Akizuki tells Kotaro about his experiment and Golgom, he's assured that Kamen Rider Black's born to defeat those villain.
This series is the most popular tokusatsu series in Indonesia. I was in elementary school when I first saw this. Well, listening the real voice of Kotaro is actually not as good as what I remember *probably because of the seiyuu* lol
This is the first Kamen Rider I ever saw. And I'm convinced that this series put strong foundation for the next series, especially to point they choose ikemen for the hero. Long before Odagiri Joe played Kuga, Minami Kotaro is the hottest guy in the era *Who's with me?*
More and more realistic touches are given to Kamen Rider series. As you can see this program was way too irrational. Kotaro Minami doesn't work, right? How the hell he survive? Heisei Kamen Rider put more attention to character detail. Takumi (555) was a laundryman. Ryotaro (Den O) is supported by his sister. Taiga (Kiva) owns a corporation.
Kamen Rider W is the most realistic of all. Phillip & Shoutaro are detective, Terui is a policeman, even Kirihiko works as memory sales person. Wakana hime is idol. Everybody works!
In OOO, Eiji is a part timer, Gotou san is a policeman before joining motorcycle squad in Kougami Foundation, Date san is a doctor, Satonaka is secretary.
Fourze is quite normal. All of them are high schoolers so they don't need to work.
BUT, what about Yuto (Den-O), Tsukasa & Kaito (Decade), ? And can violin keeps Wataru (Kiva) survive? What about Nago and his Aozora Organization? Aozora is some kind of NGO, right? hmmm, quite worrisome.
